In recent years members of Congress on both sides of the aisle have exhibited behavior that has resulted in the loss of confidence of the American people. As a member of the House Ethics Committee, Melissa saw firsthand the problems with a Congress that refuses to remove members who violate the peoples' trust. The current Congress has failed miserable on its promise hold run the most open and ethical Congress in history. Today, members of the House continue to serve while under criminal indictment. Melissa believes members of Congress should hold themselves to a higher standard and work toward, a meaningful ethics process that restores the trust between voters and their elected officials.
