With energy prices soaring and the cost of imported oil spinning out of control, Melissa believes Congress must address this issue. Melissa supports ecologically safe drilling for new supplies of oil in ANWR and off our coastlines to help make us less dependent on foreign oil. She also supports development of more nuclear power, which is already used safely, effectively and inexpensively in Beaver County. She supports development of wind and other sources of energy for the future. We also need to continue to develop traditional sources of energy such as wind and coal, which is available right here in Western Pennsylvania and can be burned cleaner thanks to better technology which Melissa's support helped to develop in Pennsylvania.
